Alumni: Save the new submitted form entry to unread instead of spam

It was found that the new submitted form entry was stored under “Spam” category.

Change it to the “Unread” Category instead.

Custom codes were removed to prevent it from happening again.

Replace current Alumni News with two sections:

TCM Spotlights:
1. Display the latest 6 posts (3 columns x 2 rows) from “TCM Spotlights” Category.
2. Display the first row with the post’s Feature image. Not to display Featured image on the 2nd row.
3. Create a shortcode for this section.
4. More button link: TCM Spotlights page https://alumni-staging.fivebranches.edu/tcm-spotlights/
5. Responsive display: Desktop 3 cols, Tablet 2 cols, Snartphone single col
Alumni Tales:
1. Display the latest 6 posts (3 columns x 2 rows) from “Story Sharing” form entries.
2. Display the first row with the post’s Feature image. Display without Featured image on the 2nd row.
3. Create a shortcode for this section.
4. More button link: Story Sharing page

5. Display the button with “Share your story” label instead of “Contribute yours”.

Keep current “Welcome” section and 3 buttons section.
Main Content : Sidebar width ratio = 2:1
Create “Homepage Sidebar” in Widget are for editors to maintain.
Push Sidebar below Main Content when Tablet is on its Portrait screen mode.

To Fix: load small size image to display for Alumni Tales

The loaded image for TCM Spotlights is acceptaable.

But the loaded image for Alumni Tales is not acceptable. It loads the full size image and resize to a smaller one. That’s a waste to web server resource.

Alumni: Create a Category Template to display all posts under it

To display all posts under the Category – TCM Spotlights,

a Category template is needed for that to display posts that comply with current active theme.

A template name with its slug – category-tcm-spotlights.php under theme folder

Alumni: Alumni News source category

Alumni News PAGE has been assigned as the Homepage of ALL POSTs, meaning ALL POSTs under ALL Categories will be displayed on the “Alumni News PAGE” with the page layout defined in the Active Theme.

So it’s not appropriate to set Alumni News PAGE as the Homepage of ALL POSTs.

It’s suggested to assign a specific Category – “General” (News, Announcements or whichever appropriate) as the source of POSTs to be displayed on the Alumni News PAGE and also be used on the Homepage Announcement section.

The “TCM Spotlights” page is set up to display all posts under “TCM Spotlights” category (previously known as General).

Create a widget to be used as the sidebar content related to CEU,
so that all CEU related pages can select it as the sidebar.

Editors can select from the dropdown list which widget to use a the sidebar of the page

Sidebar created for CEU related Pages

To add CEU sidebar to a Page you created,

select “Right Sidebar 5” from the dropdown list in
Theme Option – right column.
